Characteristics of wooden countertops
This variety of wooden countertops is manufactured from a particleboard core, which serves as the support and core of the countertop. Using industrial machinery and special adhesives, it is then covered with a decorative HPL laminate. This highly resistant material has a protective treatment that guarantees preservation and protection against scratches or other potential damage, and it is heat resistant up to 180 degrees Celsius. The front edge is finished with 8mm bevels; this machining process is known as postforming, which involves gluing the HPL into a curve at high temperatures.

The finishes and details
The edges of wooden countertops can be covered with the same HPL material or with aluminum sheets, also in the joints between boards when they form an "L".
Between the countertop and the kitchen wall, we installed a backsplash to prevent water from seeping behind the cabinets. Everything is well protected with silicone to prevent water penetration, and although the wood has a special moisture-resistant treatment, it's still a good idea.
